| Question: What do Cozy Powell, Whitesnake, Jeff Beck and Black Sabbath have in common?
Answer: Bass player Neil Murray. Rock's Mr. Modest takes us through his career spanning four decades and ending with a frantic phone call from Brian May that had him onstage with Queen + Paul Rogers some six hours later. |

| what we do |
CentralServicesJapan (CSJ) solves problems and answers enquiries that non-Japanese speaking people encounter in Japan - an English helpline for culture, customs and problems. We are the bridge between Japanese and other cultures.
We compile and maintain a database of English speaking companies and services that are available within Japan in order to make life easier for foreigners in Japan who do not speak Japanese. We find businesses within Japan that have English speaking staff and/or support, and introduce them to our members. When requested, our bi-lingual staff will offer telephone interpreting between our members and the company. We also provide, upon request, a translation service for registration forms, manuals, medicines, menus and installation instructions.
We are not an internet based company; we are a service based company. Email us and we email back. Call us and we will endeavor to resolve your issue right away. We research your question if we don’t have the answer to hand.
Our members are given a dedicated phone number and email address which they can call or write to with any enquiry that they have. The enquiry could be anything from a legal, medical, consumer or domestic matter through to mechanical or electrical problems with home appliances. Our services to members are unlimited!

We have several levels of membership help that are available to you, including some great freebies! Firstly, when you call or email, we will scan our database to see if there is anything we already have registered that answers your request instantly. If not, our bilingual Japanese staff will research the issue for you and reply as soon as possible, and within 24 hours. Secondly, if your enquiry requires communication between yourself and someone who only speaks Japanese, our bi-lingual staff can act as a ‘go-between’ and talk on the phone to both of you simultaneously. Thirdly, if you require an interpreter at a specific location, we will arrange one who specialises in the field which will be needed (translator fees are additional to members subscription fees). |

Hip places, cool bars, new hangouts and old joints all with that lovely phrase attached - Gaijin friendly. There are also reviews, reports from events, oddball features featuring oddball Japanese and a selection of those lovely photos and signs you can only find in Japan. It ain't all pretty either - there's a selection of incredible things that go on; our rant of the week and your blogs and emails to us about your whacky happenings that will go into our quarterly prize-draw. |

Step inside Japan’s world of local, national and international restaurants that have English menus translated and proof-read by CSJ. Japan’s famous national cuisine is often bypassed in favour of the fast-food chains which have English menus (usually pidgin English, but English nevertheless). All that has changed now as CSJ is dedicated to finding every restaurant in Japan that has an English menu and listing them for you right here. Vegetarian, European, Japanese, Asian, cafes and bars, you name it – we’ve got it! (and if you know of a restaurant or bar that you feel should provide an English language menu and does not, drop us a line and we will try and get that rectified for you!) We’ve included maps, pictures, menus, locations and descriptions for your delight. Each restaurant with a page on our website is a bona fide member of CSJ which means that they welcome foreigners. Don’t forget to check back regularly as CSJ will be targeting areas and translating more menus every month! |
